Lomagyonma Practice for Flu Pandemic

Lomagyonma (Sanskrit: Parnashavari) is powerful female deity, manifestation of the Compassion of all Buddhas. She is invoked to pacify all diseases of the world and especially to protect from the epidemic and infectious disease.

She is also identified as the twentieth of the twenty-one Taras, who is specialised in the prevention and cure of sickness thanks to her knowledge regarding the natural healing powers of herbs.

During the degenerate age, due to ignorance sentient beings commit great negative karma, causing endless strange diseases. Most of the diseases are caused by the five poisons of our mind. Therefore, with the blessings of Buddha Dharma, if we are able to remove the five poisons of our mind, the physical diseases will be naturally decreased and can even be eliminated.

“The present age is a degenerated time. Due to our strong negative emotions, a lot of war, diseases, famine, etc. are destroying our happiness. However, people should properly think and understand that all the suffering is caused by our own past actions, without which it cannot happen. Therefore, all of us must act according to the teaching of the Buddha and the advice of ones’ teachers, and in accordance with the basic principles of the law of cause and effect, love each other like children of one family.” – His Holiness Penor Rinpoche
