His Eminence Kyabje Trulshik Rinpoche Ngawang Chokyi Lodoe (1923-2011)
Born in Lho Talung, Tibet in 1923, Trulshik Rinpoche, at the age of four was recognised by abbot Ngawang Tenzin as the reincarnation of his heart lama, Trulshik Tendru Dorje.
In 1959, following China's invasion of Tibet, Rinpoche sought refuge in the Himalayan kingdom of Nepal and later established Thupten Choling monastery, Nepal's largest monastery.
Trulshik Rinpoche was considered the spiritual heir to several high Nyingma lamas like Dudjom Rinpoche and Dilgyo Khentse Rinpoche.
